I don’t know why winter gets such a bad rap for being a time of inactivity. Early January is particular exciting, each day bringing a new sign of this season’s display emerging from the remnants of last year’s garden. Temperatures have been yoyo-ing between mild and decidedly nippy, and already plenty of life has pushed its way up from the root-zone and broken cover. It won’t be long till these snowdrops are in flower.
