Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
I planted Solidago, or golden rod, as a quick fix to give me height and colour, and to prove to myself that I wasn’t afraid of yellow in the garden (I couldn’t find any locally so bought a few plants on eBay). It worked, rather too well, and romped through the border like a particularly ill-behaved aster, which it kind of is. Now I just pull it out from where I don’t want it, and enjoy its fluffy seedheads through the winter. Worth growing for that texture alone.
