Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
Barrow number one has finally succumbed to a puncture. After eight years of almost daily abuse, well over a hundred tonnes of manure shifted and constant trips between border and compost heap, while the wheels of barrows two and three have regularly needed patching up, this is the first time my trusty claret-coloured friend has taken poorly. I’ve a feeling the culprit was a clipping from our own pyracantha, which just makes me feel worse. After coffee and toast, I shall dig out the socket set and puncture repair kit, and hope I can remember where I left the tyre levers.
