Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
What do you see when you look at the flowers of Allium christophii? A sphere, right? I mean, like most alliums, it’s nothing more complicated than a blob on a stick – and one of quite prodigious size, at that. That’s how I’ve always seen them, anyway; only this year – perhaps because other things have been taking their time – it feels like I’ve had more of an opportunity to appreciate the scaffolding underlying each flowerhead and, rather than spheres, balls or blobs, I’m most definitely seeing stars.
