Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
The white crab spider (Musumena vatia) is an unlovely thing; a great, bulbous body and huge, muscular front legs, generally appearing in a deathly pale alabaster, but able to shift colour to a degree in order to blend in with its floral background. Clearly the shocking pink of the lychnis here was a shade too far, and the poor moth must have been particularly unobservant to fall prey to the deadly embrace of one so poorly camouflaged.
