Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
Into the second week of October, and it’s getting tweedy out there in the borders. Texture begins to come to the fore – though do we just say this because all the colour’s gone, and we need something, anything, to hang on to, to capture our interest and drag us out the door and into the garden? I can only speak for myself, and I am ready to bid a welcome to toothsome oatmeals, crumble and biscuit, accented with buttery golds and chocolate browns. By the time spring comes around again, I’ll be dying for bright greens and jewel-coloured tulips, but for now, bring on the seedy miscanthus and eupatorium.
