Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
With the best will in the world, together with a moderate effort at conscientious irrigation, things are getting a bit crispy in the garden right now. I could begin to tidy up the beds and border – I could, but I won’t, at least not for a couple of weeks. This glorious semi-mess (who am I kidding, it’s chaos!) is particularly adept at catching the rays of the setting sun and, my garden facing west, golden hour on a fine autumnal evening is something to behold.
And so, even though as I pass by in the daytime my fingers itch to snip, to pull out, to neaten up – I’ll leave things a while longer. For the evening show.
