Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year
A sucker for vivid blues in the garden, it saddens me to see vibrancy of that colour drain from the hydrangeas and the bog sage as autumn progresses. Thank goodness for Ceratostigma plumbaginoides, which picks up the baton and runs with it until around the time of the first frosts (not much chance of those at the moment here, it’s strangely mild and bucketing down with rain). With deep green foliage turning traffic-light red, it’s an ideal ground cover plant for a sunny spot.
